Psychology
The intent of the Psychology Curriculum at Kings Priory School is to provide pupils with an informed view of psychology whilst also meeting the requirements of the national examinations. Underpinning the design of the curriculum are the schools key values of tolerance, respect and friendship. These key values are supported by the core skills of the school; communication, problem solving and reading.
Within KS5 the intent is to develop understanding of psychology by looking in depth at a range of topics, whilst also broadening their knowledge and understanding of more complex scientific processes and interconnections. The aim is to develop a nuanced view of the causes of behaviour from a variety of perspectives, all the while appreciating that there is necessarily an interaction between the biological, cognitive and social levels of understanding.
